Clean, deep stump grinding for Lake Anna homeowners and landowners. Surface roots, tight access, multiple stumps — we handle it all with a free on-site estimate.
After a tree comes down, the stump is what's left — and it doesn't go away on its own. Lake Anna Tree Service grinds stumps flush with the ground or below grade so you can mow over the spot, plant grass, lay landscaping, or prep for construction without the stump getting in the way.
We grind to 6–12 inches below grade as standard, which is deep enough for lawn restoration and most landscaping. For driveways, building pads, or fence lines, we can go deeper. We also address surface roots that are cracking driveways, lifting walkways, or making mowing difficult.
Every job ends with cleanup — chips raked, hole filled, and the surrounding area left tidy. We've been doing this work in Louisa County and the Lake Anna area for over 20 years, and we know the local hardwoods well.
We grind stumps left behind after any tree removal — whether we did the removal or another crew did. No stump is too fresh or too old.
Stumps that have been sitting for years, partially rotted, or overgrown with vines are no problem. We grind them flush and clean up the debris.
Have several stumps across your property? We discount per-stump pricing when we can knock them all out in a single mobilization.
Stumps in the path of a driveway, building pad, or fence line need to be ground below grade before construction begins. We work with contractors and homeowners on site prep.
The right grinding depth depends on what you plan to do with the spot afterward:
Wood chips left in the hole will decompose over 1–3 years. They won't harm grass or plants, but they do settle as they break down — so for high-traffic areas, we recommend removing chips and backfilling with topsoil.
